Friday, April 30th

New for 2010 - The Tannery will be open 12 Noon to 4 p.m. for early bird plant selections.

 

Afternoon Workshops  This year we will present two garden-related workshops - each activity is $30.00 and includes all supplies

  • 12:00 noon  Culinary Herb Planter - presenter Barbara Steele, Alloway Creek Gardens will introduce you to the wonderful world of herbs.  She will discuss planting, harvesting and cooking with herbs.  You select and plant a container with four herb plants of your choice.  Recipes and handouts included. 

  • 1:30 p.m. Mosaic Stepping Stone - presenter, clay artist, Emily Shoey, will help you design and create your own unique stepping stone, attaching stained glass and pottery pieces to a pre-made concrete base.  Add a colorful, personal touch to your garden.

Saturday, May 1st

The Homestead will offer for sale a unique selection of superior, locally grown hanging baskets, annuals, perennials and vegetable plants.

Also featuring:

  • Additional specialty plant growers and garden related vendors

  • Gardening demonstrations and informative talks

  • Carroll County Master Gardeners on site to answer your gardening questions

  • Children's Activities

Sunday, May 2nd
Shop from our selection of quality plants and visit the specialty plant growers and garden related vendors.  Gardening information will be available.
Sunday Afternoon Feature: "History Blooms in the Garden"
A lecture series to be presented annually during the Flower and Plant Market.  This year, join us for:
  • 1:00 pm  "Treasures of the Homestead,"  followed by a dessert coffee.
    Donations:  $2.00 Members; $3.00 non-members, to benefit publication of the Shriver Diaries.
    An opportunity to purchase choice plants and enjoy an informative lecture on a Sunday afternoon.

Both Saturday and Sunday

  • Guided tours of the Historic Shriver Homestead and Grist Mill

  • Gift Shop, Stoneground Flours,  Blacksmith Shop, Free Parking

  • Food provided by Kountry Kafe and Katering of Westminster
