Union Mills Milling Day

Many mills in the Mid-Atlantic region will be recognizing the golden era of flour manufacturing in early America, from the mid-1700s to the mid-1800s. During this period, the Mid-Atlantic region led the nation in the production and exportation of flour to European and Caribbean countries. On Sunday, August 28, 2011, the Shriver Mill at Union Mills will be joining other regional mills in celebrating this heritage. Stop by and see the mill in action, sample a variety of baked goods made with stone-ground whole grain products, and learn how the mill was a vital part of Carroll County history.
